Hizbollah says captured two Israeli soldiers

BEIRUT (Reuters) - Hizbollah guerrillas captured two Israeli soldiers in attacks from Lebanon on Israeli border posts on Wednesday, Hizbollah television said.

It said the Islamic Resistance, the military arm of Hizbollah, announced the capture in a statement. (Read the rest of the story here.)

Upper Egypt: Extremist Attempts Attack on Coptic Churchgoers


CAIRO, July 11 - Guards stopped a Muslim from carrying out a knife attack on Christians at a church in Egypt on Tuesday, security sources said. Police arrested Mohammed Masoud Khalil after he was stopped by guards at the door of St. George's church in the southern Egyptian town of Qous, the sources said.Police said he was mentally ill.

The authorities blamed mental illness for a knife attack by a Muslim on Christians in Alexandria in April. The attacker, who killed one Christian and wounded five others at two churches, has been committed to a mental hospital.

Those stabbings provoked three days of Christian-Muslim street violence in which one Muslim was killed. Many Christians say the government used mental illness to cover up sectarian motives behind the attack.

Coptic Christians comprise between 5 and 10 percent of Egypt's 73 million people. The majority are Sunni Muslim. Relations between the two communities are usually peaceful, but there are sporadic outbreaks of violence.

In 1999, 22 people were killed in sectarian strife in southern Egypt. (Read the story here.)

Indian Police Pursue Leads in Bombings

BOMBAY, India (AP) -- Indian investigators on Wednesday combed through the twisted and torn wreckage of train cars for clues as to who set off well-coordinated bombings that killed 183 people and wounded more than 700 during the city's evening rush hour.

A senior police official said investigators had some leads and were looking into a possible link with Lashkar-e-Tayyaba, a Kashmiri militant group that earlier Wednesday denied any role.

…Suspicion quickly fell on Kashmiri militants after the eight blasts struck seven trains within minutes of each other on Tuesday. Lashkar is among the Kashmiri groups that have in the past employed near-simultaneous explosions to attack Indian cities. (Read the rest of the story here.)

Iraq Gunmen Seize 24 People, Killing 20

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) -- Gunmen attacked a bus station Wednesday in a volatile town northeast of Baghdad, kidnapping two dozen people and killing all but four, authorities said, while a suicide bomber blew himself up in a restaurant in the capital.

The attackers drove up in several cars and seized 24 people from the bus station in Muqdadiyah, about 60 miles northeast of Baghdad.

Iraqi Maj. Gen. Ahmed al-Awad, the commander of the army's 5th division in the area, told state TV that 20 bodies had been found and the victims were Shiites. He said four people were rescued. Police confirmed that 20 bodies were found but said their identities were uncertain.

The general said the attackers separated the Shiites from the Sunnis, then took the Shiite victims to the nearby village of Ballour. He accused police in the town of failing to intervene. (Read the rest of the story here.)

It seems to me that the Muslims are attacking others in some form every day now. How can they possibly think that the world can believe them when they keep doing these acts of terrorism? Their rote line “we are just defending ourselves” just has no credence with the world anymore. Look Muslims it is like this; IF YOU KEEP PRODDING A RATTLESNAKE WITH A STICK IT IS GOING TO BITE YOU. The same holds true that if you keep attacking other people you are going to suffer the consequences of countries fighting back against you. Why is that so hard from you Islamic-cannot think-brains to get? If you want the world to believe the bullshit you spew about being “peace and love,” you are going to have to start exhibiting “peace and love” instead of “hate and savage attacks” on others. If you want countries to stop attacking you back for the attacks you make on them; stop attacking others, Muslims. It is that simple. Get it?
