After last weeks depressing film, I decided to opt for something different this week. I went and watched Underworld: Rise of the Lycans this morning starring Michael Sheen as Lucian, Bill Nightly as Viktor and Rhona Mitra as Sonja. The prequel story traces the origins of the centuries-old blood feud between the aristocratic vampires and their onetime
slaves, the Lycans. In the Dark Ages, a young Lycan named Lucian emerges as a powerful leader who rallies the werewolves to rise up against Viktor, the cruel vampire king who has enslaved them. Lucian is joined by his secret lover, Sonja, Viktor‘s daughter, in his battle against the Vampire army and his struggle for Lycan freedom.If you are an Underworld fan you will love this film. Personally I think this film wasn’t needed to enhance the Underworld story. This film is full of blood and gore, so if that is your thing you will like this film. Having said all of that I didn’t hate this movie. I give this film 3 and half tiger paws.
